VILLA boss Dean Smith believes Ahmed Elomhamedy is enjoying a revival in the second half of the season.
The Egyptian defender had some shaky moments for Villa a few months back.
But now he looks to have put them behind him as plays his part in the great Villa revival.
Smith said: “He’ll the first to admit he went through a little bit of a sticky period pre-Christmas and after Christmas when we were in a period of playing three right backs in a back-four.
“He made a couple of mistakes for goals but I’ve never questioned his professionalism and the quality he’s got.
“I think he’s putting in some really assured displays. Very rarely does he give you less than a seven out of 10 and I think our support has certainly taken him to heart over the last couple of games.”
