VILLA boss Dean Smith has confirmed there is an option to sign on-loan defender Kortney Hause from Wolves.
Hause has settled into the Villa side since his arrival in January and now finds himself playing as a centre half alongside Tyrone Mings with boss Dean Smith dealing with a lengthy injury list.
But Smith has been impressed with Hause and hinted the deal is likely to be made permanent this summer.
The Villa boss said: “That’s why we put the option in.
“We thought he could have a future at Villa. We’ve got the option to buy him.
“He’s doing really well but he had a tough baptism of fire when we were beaten at Wigan and I threw him on in what wasn’t a good performance.
“But he’s got fitter and fitter and he’s getting better with each game.”
Smith admits he has yet to hear the Villa fans’ song for Hause – which is based on the Madness hit ‘Our House’.
The Villa manager smiled: “I haven’t heard it yet.
“I’ve been to see Madness a few times myself so I’ll have a listen to it.”
Smith added: “It’s helped having the window to bring players in with Mings and Hause.
“We’ve lost players to injury – Tuanzebee, Chester, Elphick and Hutton.
“Defensively it’s been tough.“The players who have come in have looked very solid.
“They will be the first to say that the people in front of them have been making it easier by defending from the front.”
