VILLA boss Dean Smith gave an injury update and made it clear some players are likely to be out for a while yet.
But he hinted at some changes for Saturday’s six-pointer against Middlesbrough – despite sealing three wins in a row.
Smith said club captain James Chester and full-back Alan Hutton were ‘slow burners’.
The Villa boss said: “Axel Tuanzebee and Henri Lansbury are getting on really well, doing some really hard work, it’s like a mini pre-season for them now to get them ready for the Blackburn game after the break.
“James Chester and Alan Hutton are more slow burners.
“Chezzie’s now completed the injections he was having into the knee, we are hoping to get him back into light training over the net two weeks and we will see where he goes from there.
“Hopefully we do not get a reaction from the knee.“
“Alan Hutton is back in the club again after a few days off with his family and he is just doing some light rehab work.
“There are no other concerns other than the fact it is our third game in six days such are the fixtures we have been given. “
“We’ve looked at the players and we may have to freshen things up on Saturday.”
