VILLA defender Axel Tuanzebe says he aims to be fit to face Blackburn Rovers a week on Saturday.
Tuanzebe, 21, has been out since December with a foot injury.
But with boss Dean Smith in need of numbers at the back, he will welcome the return of the on-loan Manchester United man.
Tuanzebe is back in full training with the first team squad and believes Villa’s next picture at home to Blackburn is a realistic aim.
He told the club’s official website: “The Blackburn game gives me the chance to build up the lungs and the legs and get ready for the run of games that the Championship requires.
“It’s really good to be back.
“I’m at a stage where I’m building my fitness in order to be ready for the Blackburn game.
“When you’re out with a bone injury there’s not a lot you can do but rest. It’s been a long process of healing.
“But I’m back in full training now and doing my extras – doing everything I can to be ready to play.”
And Tuanzebe is keen to get back into the side and play his part in Villa’s end of season play off bid.
He added: ”It’s great to be back around the lads and I’m ready to go again for a big finish to the season.”
