VILLA boss Dean Smith says his players are policing themselves when it comes to preparing for a their bid to reach the Premier League.
A run of four wins in a row has put Villa back in among the play-off places.
And Smith believes it is a direct result of the squad’s attitudes in training sessions.
The Villa manager told the club’s official website: “There’s still more to come. Definitely. I see that in training.

“We’ve started doing debriefs over the last month where players actually debrief themselves.
“I’ve put them in small groups and they’ve picked out things they can do better, as well as things they’ve done well.”
Smith believes it is important for the players to contribute as well as the management team.
He added: ”It’s something we want them to do because, ultimately, when they cross the white line – they’re the decision makers.
“We want to give them as much responsibility as we can, and they seem to be thriving on that. That’s good for us.”
