Bruce may get a say in Axel return

By Graham Hill

AXEL Tuanzebe is to be made available on loan again next season – but Villa might not be the only interested club.

The Sun report that the 21-year-old central defender will be allowed out once more by Manchester United next summer.

They are pleased with the progress he has made at Villa Park and would have no problems letting him return.

But one man may have something to say about that – former Villa boss Steve Bruce.

It was Bruce who brought Tuanzebe to Villa over a year ago – and then renewed the loan arrangement the following August.

And with Bruce now at Sheffield Wednesday after his Villa sacking – and with strong Old Trafford contacts – he is sure to be in the queue once more for the player’s services.

It could be a different story if Villa were to be promoted via the play-offs.

Then Villa would be the much better option clearly.

But Tuanzebe could have a choice to make this summer if Bruce comes calling.

He clearly warmed to life at Villa Park and may not hesitate to come back.

Tuanzebe is set to be back in Dean Smith’s squad for this weekend’s clash with Blackburn after recovering from a foot injury which has kept him out of acton since December.

Much would also depend on who is charge at United next season – but the job looks certain to go to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a permanent basis.
