VILLA boss Dean Smith says Tammy Abraham can come close to reaching the 30 goal mark this season.
Abraham is aiming for the Championship’s Golden Boot and has Billy Sharp (23) of Sheffield United and Norwich’s Teemu Pukki (24) ahead of him.
But Smith still believes there are plenty of goals in Abraham yet – and if he ups his goal rate between now and May then there is every chance that could secure Villa’s place in the play-offs.
Smith told Villa’s official TV channel: “I’ve got great belief in him – he scores a lot of goals inside that six-yard box.
“His movement is really good and he creates space for others around him.
“His finishing is getting better and better.
“I still think he can go and score another six or seven and propel himself to the top of the charts.”
But Smith admits that as long as Villa keep winning, he does not mind where the goals come from.
And he refuses to heap pressure on the on-loan Chelsea forward.
Smith added: “While his goals will always be important, it’s key we have others chipping in, too. Which has been happening of late.
“It takes a lot of pressure off young Tammy.”
