DEAN Smith reckons something has to give at Hillsborough when Villa travel to Sheffield Wednesday.
Villa are chasing a sixth successive win to maintain their promotion push.
And the Owls are unbeaten in 13 games under former Villa boss Steve Bruce.
It all points to being an absorbing clash between two form teams.
Smith told the club’s official TV channel: “It adds incentive for both teams.
“Either our winning run or their unbeaten run will come to an end this weekend.
“Let’s hope it’s theirs.”
But Smith says Villa are still walking a play-off tightrope despite their run of results. He added: “Our places in the table make it a really intriguing game.
“Every game has been like that lately, where if we’d have lost it would have raised questions about a top-six finish.
“As it is, we’ve won the last five and people see this as a potential six-pointer.
“For ourselves, it’s just about thinking about the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition – and how we can hurt them.
“We’ve just got to look to get the better of them on the day.
“They’re unbeaten and look very organised.
“They’ve got good players coming back from injury themselves, so it’s going to be tight.
“It’ll be a good crowd. We’ve sold out our tickets behind the goal.
“We’re looking forward to it, while being respectful of what they’ve got.”
