FORMER Villa striker Andi Weimann says Bristol City are ‘full of confidence’ ahead other top six showdown.
Weimann is set to return to the club who sold him for £2.5million to Derby County four years ago.
And he arrives back at Villa Park in a rich vein of form after scoring four goals in his last three games – including a hat-trick against Sheffield United.
Weimann, 27, has brought his tally for the season to 10 – and he is relishing the clash at Villa with both sides on great runs as they aim to seal a play-off place.
He told Bristol Live: “Now we go to Villa Park with a lot of confidence and hopefully we can keep this run going.
“It’s looking good in the race for the top six, it’s in our hands and that’s all we can ask for.”
Lee Johnson’s side beat West Brom 3-2 in midweek – but they had to hold on to the points after leading 3-0 early on.
Weimann added: “It’s been a really big 10 days or so for us and it was a really big win in the week.
“We thought we’d need a few goals to get a win and luckily enough we managed to hold out at the end.”
