VILLA boss Dean Smith revealed midfield duo Jack Grealish and John McGinn are giving their rivals food for thought – literally.
The pair have helped inspire Villa to seven straight wins ahead to their clash with Bristol City.
And that has had the pundits tipping Smith’s side for a return to the Premier League.
But the Villa boss says a lot of it is down to the pair’s regular Thursday night meetings.
Smith told reporters: “Jack and John are thick as thieves.
“They’ve got this ritual now of going out to eat on a Thursday night – I’m not sure their girlfriends approve.
“They pop off as a couple and have a meal. “I wasn’t invited. It’s an invite I’d rather not have to be honest because they’d want me to foot the bill!
“They get on really well. They have a similar sense of humour and because they play so close to each other, it can only help.
They have a little bit of banter about themselves, the pair of them. They have a similar sense of humour.
“Within the group you see little bonds which build. It helps they play so close together on the pitch as well. There is good knowledge between them.”
