ASTON Villa boss Dean Smith insists the club’s promotion bid will not break EFL spending rules.
Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson is calling on League chiefs to prove Villa, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday over possible FFP issues.
But Smith says Villa are confident they have nothing to hide.
Second City rivals Blues have been docked nine points.
But Villa are on an eight-match winning run which could see them back in the Premier League if he they win the Play-offs.
Smith said: “Is there anything for us to be concerned about? I don’t believe so.
“I haven’t seen any quotes attributed to the chairman who’s meant to have said it.
“It’s out of my remit, but my chief executive says that we are fully compliant.”
