VILLA have been thrown yet another curve ball in their bid to make the Play-offs.
Tammy Abraham has been ruled out of the game against Millwall with the shoulder injury he picked up at Bolton.
It means a recall for Jonathan Kodjia, who impressed at Rotherham recently, but Abraham has 25 goals to his name this season and the on-loan Chelsea striker is always someone you would like to have up front at the moment.
At the back, there is no Axel Tuanzebe who turned his ankle at Bolton. It is another blow for Smith but his replacement Mile Jedinak has also been in fine form at the back whenever he has been called on in recent games.
Tommy Elphick is back on the bench after coming off injured in the win over Derby at the beginning of March.
But while Millwall are battling at the wrong end of the table, this will not be a comfortable game for Villa who are aiming for a club record TEN wins.
Expectations among fans will be high, but it looks like Smith has told his team to be patient.
An early goal would go a long way to settling things, but Villa may also have to grind this one out.
If Villa are to make it 10 in a row, I doubt it will be pretty. Prove me wrong!
