VILLA’S hopes of bringing Axel Tuanzebe back for another loan spell next season could be dealt a blow if Manchester United boss Olsd Gunnar Solskjaer wants to give the defender a chance to prove himself at Old Trafford.
According to the Mirror, Solskjaer sees the 21-year-old has been impressing his parent club while at Villa.
Initial reports suggested he would be allowed out on loan again next season – with Villa heading the queue for his services.
But with Solskjaer looking to rebuild at United, it has been suggested the Norwegian will assess Tuanzebe during United’s pre-season friendlies.
Tuanzebe has already made eight appearances for United – the most recent coming 17 months ago.
But he was then loaned out to former Villa boss Steve Bruce to who brought him back this season.
If Tuanzebe was allowed out on loan next term, then Bruce is almost certain to try and take him to Sheffield Wednesday.
Tuanzebe has a big part to play at Villa where he has become a fans’ favourite. He has teamed up well with another loanee Tyrone Mings and they have helped Villa into this season’s play-offs with a series of solid displays.
