Leeds owner fury at Hourihane

By Graham Hill

THE aftermath of Villa’s explosive clash at Leeds United rumbles on.

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizziani has had his say on Twitter after seeing TV replays of the scuffles that broke out following Mateusz Klich’s controversial opening goal.

And it is fair to say that he is not happy.

While Patrick Bamford was charged by the FA for simulation after claiming he was hit by Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi, Conor Hourihane escaped action despite appearing on replays to punch Klich.

Both sides were charged with failing to control their players – but the FA did not feel there was enough evidence to charge Hourihane.

Radrizziani clearly thought differently though and posted: ‘Speechless, nothing will stop us’.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa defused the situation by gifting Albert Adomah an immediate equaliser.

But there is still bad feeling simmering at Elland Road. And if the clubs meet again in the play-offs then it looks as though it would not take much to bring it back to the surface.

Leeds fans have also highlighted an incident against Stoke this season when Villa did not put the ball out of play despite Potters full-back Erik Pieters lying on the floor injured. Responses online have made it clear that there was no sign of Villa trying to put the ball into touch.

Villa claim that Leeds had appeared to be preparing to kick the ball out on Sunday with Jonathan Kodjia down injured.

And earlier, Hourihane had kicked the ball out of play for Leeds which is why he was so angry when Leeds scored. If it is a Villa v Leeds final, do not miss it!
