FORMER Villa boss Tim Sherwood is predicting another epic battle with West Brom next week in the Championship play-offs.
Four years ago, it was Sherwood in charge when Villa beat Albion on their way to the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Wembley.
They beat Liverpool before losing the final to Arsenal.
And now Villa are almost certain to be facing Baggies again for a place at Wembley.
This time the prize will be the chance to return to the Premier League.
And even though Villa have not beaten Albion in two attempts this season, Sherwood is backing Dean Smith’s side to repeat their 2015 success.
Sherwood told the Sky Sports Debate programme “I’ll go Villa for the play-offs.
“My old club and I’d love to see them back in the Premier League.”
Sherwood is already relishing the prospect of a Villa-Baggies semi-final and clearly holds no grudges against the club that sacked him just five months after taking them to the Cup Final.
He added: “There are some big clubs there fighting it out and I can tell you the rivalry between Villa and West Brom is huge. Those two games are going to be huge football matches.”
