THERE was just one blot on Jack Grealish’s day at Wembley – Villa’s club captain James Chester whacked him above the eye with the Championship Play-off Trophy!
The Sun Online reported that skipper Grealish appeared on Sky Sports after the 2-1 victory over Derby with a large gash across his eyebrow.
Grealish was seen dabbing the wound with a tissue as the celebrations continued in front of the royal box.
He was asked about the accident during his interview with Sky Sports
Grealish said: “Me and Chessy have gone up there and shared the trophy.
“And Ches gave me a little nudge and stuck the trophy on my eyebrow to slit my eyebrow open.
“I ain’t going to be looking too good for the celebrations tonight.”
Sky pundit Liam Rosenior joked: “You’re the first player to get cut by a trophy!”
It was a result that is likely to see Grealish staying at Villa rather than moving to Tottenham.
Spurs tried to sign Grealish on the cheap last year when Villa suffered financial problems when they failed to clinch promotion at Wembley.
But now Grealish is set to stay with Villa who have inserted a £60million release clause into his current contract.
