ANWAR El Ghazi is set to be the next Villa signing confirmed for next season after Dean Smith completed a deal for Birmingham winger Jota on Wednesday.
The Holland forward has been on loan at Villa Park and boss Smith has made it clear he wants to bring him in permanently from French side Lille.
The Guardian says the deal could be done in the next 24 hours after Villa triggered the option to but the player for a fee expected to be in the region of £8million.
El Ghazi impressed last season and could be unstoppable when he was on top form.
He scored six goals for Villa – he netted in the Championship final against Derby and made the second goal for John McGinn.
El Ghazi has made it clear that he wants to stay and play on for Villa in the Premier League.
Smith could bring his tally of signings to four if he snaps up two other loanees – Tyrone Mings and Kortney Hause from Bournemouth and Wolves.
Villa have already taken up their option on Molineux defender Hause and are expected to sign him in a £3million deal.
