Villa announce pre-season games

VILLA have announced three pre-season friendlies for next month – and want to play a game in Europe on August 3.

Dean Smith’s side already have a match in the USA against MLS side Minnesota United on July 17.

But when they come back to the UK, they will have three more games – two of them in the Midlands.

On Sunday, July 21, they will travel to Shrewsbury Town for a game against the League One side which has a 2pm kick-off.

The following Wednesday, July 24, sees Smith return to his former club Walsall for the annual pre-season clash with the Saddlers at the Banks’ Stadium. Kick off here is 7.45pm.

And on the Saturday after that, July 27, Villa head to Charlton Athletic for a friendly clash at The Valley with a 3pm kick-off.

Villa’s official website also adds that they are also exploring the possibility of a fixture in Europe on Saturday, August 3.
