DEAN Smith has vowed to make sure Anwar El Ghazi realises his potential at Aston Villa next season.
El Ghazi has completed an £8million move from Lille after a successful loan spell at Villa Park last season.
The move was completed over the weekend and had been on the cards ever since the 24-tear-old helped Villa back into the Premier League last month.
Holland international El Ghazi has signed a four year deal and has been regarded as a player with a real future after coming through the ranks at the Ajax Academy.
Villa boss Smith told the club’s official website: “He’ll be a great addition to the squad for next season.
“Anwar proved to everybody at Wembley how good a player he can be for Aston Villa.
“He’s ready for the step up to the Premier League and he’s a young player who has an awful lot of potential.
“It’s now my job and the job of the coaching staff and Anwar himself to fulfil the potential that he undoubtedly has.”
El Ghazi is one of a trio of loan deals that are expected to be made permanent this week.
Villa will have to pay £15million to seal Tyrone Mings’ move from Bournemouth while defender Kortney Hause is close to a £3million move across the West Midlands from Wolves.
