VILLA are reported to be facing competition for summer target Ryan Kent.
And Luton’s James Justin is said to have chosen a move to Leicester City ahead of Villa.
The Daily Record claims Glasgow Rangers are favourites to sign winger Kent, 22, despite interest from Leeds United and Villa.
Ibrox boss Steve Gerrard is said to be ‘closing’ in on a deal to bring Kent back to Scotland after being on loan at Rangers.
Leeds are thought to want Kent and Harry Wilson on loan from Liverpool.
Villa’s role in this move may have been lessened by the fact that they have signed wide man Jota from Blues and look set to confirm a permanent £8million deal for Anwar El Ghazi
The Daily Mail also claim that Justin’s reported move to Leicester is going ahead with Villa missing out on the versatile defender despite making a reported bid of more than £7.5million.
Justin, 21, is tipped for a big future and can play at either right or left-back. But Villa already have one right-back in for next season with Frédéric Guilbert making his move this summer after signing from Caen but then being loaned back to the relegated French side.
It looks as though Villa are casing their net far and wide in a bid to strengthen their squad for next season’s Premier League return – but they will inevitably miss out on some targets.
