NO decision will be made on Axel Tuanzebe’s immediate future for over a month.
The Manchester United defender remains a top target for Villa boss Dean Smith as he looks to boost his back line for next season’s Premier League return.
Tuanzebe played a key role in Villa’s play-off charge in the final quarter of last season and became a firm favourite with Holte Enders.
But sources close to the player have told the Manchester Evening News that there has been ‘no movement’ with Tuanzebe and that he wants to impress United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But he is expected to be a part of United’s pre-season build-up despite spending 18 months on loan at Villa.
Tuanzebe, likely to be named in United’s squad for their four-game tour of Australasia which means he will be leaving on July 7.
The MEN says any decision on his future is likely to be made once United have returned to Europe and their final tour game is on July 25 in Shanghai.
That means it will be almost August before Tuanzebe can physically come back to Villa.
The United academy graduate has made just five starts and three sub appearances for the club – but he know has 35 appearances under his belt for Villa.
Much depends on United’s activity in the transfer market – they want defenders to come in but are reluctant to pay inflated prices and may turn to home grown players.
