Villa want Tuanzebe for keeps

By Phil Jennings

ANY deal to bring Axel Tuanzebe back to Villa Park this summer would be with a view to buying the 21-year-old.

The up and coming central defender’s future is still up in the air after returning from his loan spell to rejoin parent club Manchester United.

But the Express & Star reports that boss Dean Snith has still not given up on the chance of bringing Tuanzebe back and re-unite him with Tyrone Mings who remains a top target for Villa.

It was thought that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was ready to include Tuanzebe in his plans for next season.

But if United’s summer buying means the player retains down the pecking order at Old Trafford then Villa could move back in.

Villa could loan the player once more, but are likely to insist on having an option to buy.

Smith would prefer to go in for a permanent deal this summer with Tuanzebe only having one year left on his contract at United.

The Villa boss wants to add two more defenders after losing Tommy Elphick and Mile Jedinak. Club captain James Chester also has question marks over his fitness.

And The Sun says Villa are preparing a £12million bid for Bristol City’s Adam Webster.
