VILLA could be ready to raid Club Bruges again after signing £20million striker Wesley Moraes.
Belgian newspaper nieuwsblad.be say Villa have offered around £8million for Zimbabwean Marvelous Nakamba – and the midfielder is refusing to train with the club as he wants a deal to be done.
Nakamba, 25, has been linked with a move to Villa all summer but now their interest in the player has been firmed up in Belgium.
He has reportedly angry that Bruges have raised the price for him and intriguingly, he is now also following Villa’s official Instagram account!
Nieuwsblad says Nakamba has spent the last few weeks with Zimbabwe in Egypt for the Africa Cup Of Nations and had to report to Bruges today.
But Nakamba is currently in Paris and has not turned up for training. He says he wants to leave because is it not in the picture at Bruges right now.
Bruges are reported to have rejected an offer of 10millon euros from Villa and the player hopes a deal can be completed.
A statement from the club last month said: “He has been an important player in the past, so there can only be talk if there are very large amounts of money.”
But it was thought Bruges were prepared to do a deal at 8million euros when German side Cologne were interested in the player.
They have now increased their asking price and will know Villa have money to spend. Last season, the defensive midfielder made 19 league appearances.
Villa have already moved to bring in Douglas Luiz from Manchester City – but are clearly looking to build a strong squad for the new Premier League season.
