Villa ‘close to Marvelous deal’

By Graham Hill

VILLA would have signed Club Bruges midfielder Marvelous Nakamba last month but for a dispute over a loan player.

But it is now said that only 2million euros separate the clubs – with a deal close to being done.

It has been reported by HLN Sport that the Zimbabwean was heading to Villa Park in a £11million deal – but Club Bruges objected to a loan player coming in the opposite direction.

Villa insisted that the un-named player went to Belgium as part of the Nakamba deal.

Now Nakamba is refusing to train with Bruges now that Villa are stepping up their interest in the player.

But now Bruges are threatening legal action against the player if he continues his protest.

However, reports in Belgium say Nakamba’s representatives believe a deal can happen quickly without resorting to legislation.
