MARVELOUS Nakamba is reported to have travelled to Birmingham for a medical ahead of his proposed move to Villa.
Nakamba was said to be refusing to train with his club Bruges in Belgium after playing in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Zimbabwe midfielder has been trying to force through to Villa with the two clubs believed to be two million euros apart in their valuation of the player.
Nakamba had headed to Paris rather than Bruges and, according to Zimbabwe newspaper The Herald, has now been to the Midlands to tie up his move to Villa.
They claim that Villa are paying just under £11million for the player and quotes one source as saying on Wednesday: “Nakamba is here in Birmingham for his medical and an announcement is due either late today or tomorrow regarding his signing for Villa.”
It remains to be seen if Nakamba will join up with the squad who are currently in the USA for a pre-season training camp and a friendly against Minnesota United.
Nakamba has fuelled talk of a move to Villa Park by following the club’s Instagram account and as well as those of some of the players.
Villa boss Dean Smith has spent over £100million on players this summer and has promised more deals – but there has been no official comment from either club on the interest in Nakamba as yet.
