MIXED messages about Marlevous Nakamba’s proposed move to Aston Villa are still doing the rounds.
Zimbabwe newspaper The Herald this week claimed the midfielder was in Birmingham undergoing a medical ahead of joining Villa.
That was supposed to be on Wednesday but there has been little to suggest a bid has been accepted by Nakamba’s club Bruges.
Now insidefutbol.com are reporting that the Zimbabwe international has still not reported back for pre-season training with Bruges.
The player was meant to check in this week after playing in the Africa Cup of Nations but is believed to have headed to Paris instead.
Nakamba is reportedly trying to force through a move to Villa with the two clubs believed to be 2million euros apart in their valuation.
Villa are said to have a bid turned down last month because they also wanted to send one of their players out on loan to Bruges as part of the deal.
The Belgian side rejected this and there has been a stand-off over the player ever since.
Nakamba, 25, is under contract to Bruges for another two years and the club will only let him leave on their terms and are still waiting for an offer they are prepared to consider.
