FORGOTTEN man Scott Hogan was on target as Villa recorded another pre-season friendly victory.
Hogan, who was loaned out to Sheffield United for the second half of last season, netted on the hour after being set up nicely by £22million signing Wesley Moraes.
Now Villa head to neighbours Walsall on Wednesday for their next outing – and there could be more new faces on board by then.
Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz and Egypt winger Trezeguet are set to sign in a combined deal totalling around £24million.
Boss Dean Smith played a total of 22 players once more as the Villa boss took a close look at his squad.
Jota had a volley cleared off the line before the break before Keinan Davis went close.
Hogan broke the deadlock n the second half with Wesley’s contribution earning encouraging noises after his big money move from Club Bruges.
Villa fans turned out in force for the game with 5,000 making trip to Shropshire – and 3,500 are expected to follow the team at Walsall.
