VILLA’S goalkeeping merry-go-round shows no sign of slowing down yet.
Burnley reportedly still want £10million for Tom Heaton – while Villa are prepared to let Croatia keeper Lovre Kalinic go for HALF of what they paid for him last season.
The Sun says that Heaton is still a Villa target, but with some reports suggesting they only offered Burnley an initial £4million for the England international, Sean Dyche is in no mood to let his player go on the cheap.
Kalinic, meanwhile, seems happy to write off his £6million January move as a bad deal – and Villa agree.
The fact that Jed Steer put Kalinic in the shade in the final third of last season says it all.
And at this rate, Steer could be starting the season in goal for Villa as Dean Smith’s keeper search is hitting a dead end at every turn at the moment.
A move for Jack Butland seems unlikely while stubborn Stoke City refuse to lower their asking price below £20million.
Talk of a move for Cardiff’s Neil Etheridge appears to have cooled and it is unclear whether Steve Bruce will let Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka – another reported target – leave this summer.
