FROZEN out keeper Lovre Kalinic could make a rare appearance in Wednesday’s night’s friendly with Walsall at the Banks’ Stadium.
Play-off hero Jed Steer played a full 90 minutes against Shrewsbury Town on Sunday.
But with boss Dean Smith still trying to bring in a new No1 for Villa’s Premier League return, Croatia international Kalinic could get a run out against the Saddlers, according to the Express & Star.
Villa are reportedly ready to let Kalinic go for £3million this summer – just six months after signing him in January in a deal worth between £6-7million.
Kalinic could find himself in the shop window if he gets the nod on Wednesday.
But there is a injury doubt over winger Anwar El Ghazi who suffered a knock in the warm-up at Shrewsbury when he had been due to play in the second half.

Villa defender Kortney Hause told reporters: “We had a hard week out in Minnesota, warm weather training, which was quite tough on the lungs.
“But that’s what you expect in pre-season. It has been okay. Things are slowly getting there. We still have a few weeks until the first match of the season and it’s all part of the preparation.
