VILLA’S search for a new goalkeeper looks to be over after agreeing an £8million deal to sign Burnley’s Tom Heaton.
Burnley had been looking for £10million for the England-capped 33-year-old.
But now Villa have thrashed out a deal after refusing to meet Stoke City’s £20million demand for Jack Butland.
The Telegraph reports that Heaton will have a medical at Villa within 48 hours.
Villa had gone with with a reported bid of £4million for Heatson who has been at Turf Moor for six years.

Zimbabwe midfielder Marvelous Nakamba is putting the finishing touches to his £11million Villa move – which would make Heaton boss Dean Smith’s 12th signing of the summer.
Heaton had just a year left on his Burnley deal and was thought to be keen on leaving for Villa as Clarets manager Sean Dyche had two other senior keepers – Joe Hart and Nick Pope – on his books already.
Smith had also explored the possibility of signing Neil Etheridge from Cardiff – a player he knew well from his days at Walsall.
And Italian media were strongly linking Villa with a move for Juventus keeper Mattia Perin. But Villa have now done a deal for Heaton with the Telegraph adding that there are just £500,000 worth of add-ons attached to the move.
