MARVELOUS Nakamba says he hopes to live up to his name after completing an £11million move to Villa from Bruges.
The Zimbabwe midfielder, 25, has finally been announced as a Villa player after the club agreed a fee last week.
He becomes the 12th player to sign for Dean Smith this summer – and the second of the day after Villa also announced keeper Tom Heaton’s move from Burnley.
Nakamba was said to have stayed away from training at Bruges after playing in the Africa Cup of Nations – because he was trying to drive through a move to Villa.
But he told Villa’s official website that he was only concentrating on the Premier League from now on.
And he will have an immediate reunion with striker Wesley who joined from Bruges in a club record £22million deal.
Nakamba said: “It’s always been my ambition to play with the best in the world in the Premier League. It’s a dream, I’m very happy to be here
“Wesley has told me many things about Aston Villa, he was very positive about the club and he spoke to me almost every time when I came home.
“It’s a goof thing to a have a familiar face in the dressing room, I was happy about that.”
When asked what sort of player he is, Nakamba replied: “I am a Marvelous player!
“In midfield I do everything for the team every time. The manager told me everything about the club and I want to learn more from him.”
